|One of our recent graduates!
Our commitment to education. We feel that educating the next generation is one of the
best ways to have a long term impact on developing countries. Thus, we have committed to seeking out bright students of all
ages and putting them through primary school, secondary school, college,
and/or trade school.
Where we work. We have supported over 100 students in Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe,
Zambia, Guinea, and Nepal. We are currently supporting over 50 students.
What we expect from each student. In order to be accountable to our donors, we require that each student:
us their official transcript from their most recently completed semester when they making a first-time request,
or for subsuquent semesters.
- If we send funds directly to students, they must send us a
receipt when they pay tuition costs.
- Students must make C's or better, although we will
consider those that make poorer grades.
Failure to meet these requirement will
result in us no longer funding the student.
Our Partners. We are pleased to partner with Help to Help
(HelptoHelp.se) and Children in the Wilderness (ChildrenintheWilderness.com) to
fund students. These groups identify bright students through camps or their
application process. They have staff in countries where they work that make sure students are accountable and do well.
For University students, we are now working through Help to Help, and you will need to
apply for funding through them. This is the timetable for the application period:
Opening the web application Jan 20th. Closing Feb 12th.
selection: Feb 12th - Feb 15th
- Interview week (over Skype) Feb
20th - Feb 25th
- Final selection workshop: March
