The Dowell Family

The Dowell family has been active in missions for over 30 years.  They founded Planting Hope International in 2011 with the mission of spreading the Gospel through meeting agricultural, educational, and medical needs.   Floyd has a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering and is a research scientist at the USDA ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health Research.  Gayle has a B.S. in Mechanical Design Technology and is an artist, specializing in nature-inspired jewelry.  They are proud to have two adult daughters and a son-in-law, Christine (KSU student in Parks and Wildlife Management) and Kayla (in Nursing school) who is married to Sergeant Gunnar Naughton, USMC.

Mission Statement.  Planting Hope International provides appropriate technology and training to improve food production, education, and health, thereby improving food security and financial stability for families in developing countries. It provides the opportunity to show our faith through our works as we seek to minister to the sick, hungry, orphaned and widowed, as commanded throughout the Bible.
This charity depends on volunteers, and no one receives any financial compensation.
